the beasts...

tonight i witnessed something rather disturbing. at milano's in millington they have a new promotion where if 2 people can eat a 28 inch pizza in 1 hour then they get a $100 gift certificate and the pizza is free. if not, the pizza is like 50 bucks. well of course as soon as word got out about this you know jeremy and drew were all over that! we all showed up at 6:00 tonight to watch them take on the challenge.



it's hard to really get a good grasp on how massive the pizza was from this pic...but please note that it almost covers the entire table.

taylor turns three...

yesterday was tay-tay's third birthday party. she absolutely loved being the center of attention : ) everytime people would start talking she would start saying "hey, hey! i'm going to sing Jesus love me!" haha then she would serenade all of us. she is getting to be such a big girl.

a day on the town....

last month my younger sister turned 31...yep, that makes me feel REALLY old!!!! i missed her birthday party because i was at kimberly and grant's wedding. so, last weekend we had a day on the town. we started out by going downtown to the farmer's market. yeah, i know we don't really eat many veggies...but we got a few things : ) i got some black-eyed peas, butter beans, and sweet potatoes. after that we rode the trolley down main street and had lunch at the majestic. i absolutely love that restaurant!! i was disappointed though because we were there early so they were only serving brunch and sandwiches...my favorite thing to eat there is the tilapia. guess that means i'll just have to go back again pretty soon!

every year about this time i have these really georgous flowers that bloom all over my yard. they are so pretty and the way they just pop up randomly makes me happy!

a week in my life...

this past week i...

sunday: i visited a ladies class at bellevue then went to the service...both were really good!

monday: after work i went to a thirty-one party at april's house. i bought this really cute bag.

tuesday: during our weekly meeting at work on tuesday gheri, kim and i were told that when our protocol was monitored recently it was a huge improvement from previous years!! woo hoo!! after work i went straight to stacy's for some christmas in august fun.

wednesday: i pretty much worked on projects all day wednesday at work.

thursday: on thursday i finally caved and started taking a dose pack of steroids. my rheumatoid arthritis has been flared up for about 2 weeks and i kept thinking that if i just took ibuprofen along with my regular meds i could patch it up...but it just kept getting worse and worse...so i finally bit the bullet and started the prednisone on thursday. please pray that i feel better soon!!



friday: after work on friday i went over to mom and dad's and watched "soul surfer" with them and katie, jeremy, allie, and taylor. it was soooo good. i will def be buying this movie.

saturday: i was really starting to feel the effects of the prednisone on saturday...and not in a good way. my blood pressure was up, my face was flushed and i was burning up, and my stomach was so upset. i feel so sorry for my patients who have to take this for 28 days instead of just the 5 that i do!! i did go get my hair did on saturday. here's a pic...sorry for the lack of makeup.

oh  yeah, one other thing...on saturday dad went out to my house and put a peep-hole in my door so that i can see who is knocking on my door or standing on my porch! yay for safety : 0



christmas in august...

we started a new tradition last year called "christmas in august". yes, my family LOVES christmas!!! and when it gets to be the middle of the summer we really get ready for it...so we decided to do something about that : ) this year stacy hosted our fun night.

she had so much good food ready for us...cheese fondue, sausage balls, puppy chow, chick-fil-a chicken nuggets, and chocolate covered strawberries!! it was delish...we all brought canned goods for a food drive that mom's work is doing so that the girls can learn the importance of giving to others. they had so much fun filling up the bag of cans.

stacy had crafts for the girls to do and for us to do. the girls had these wooden things to color that they can stand up and put on their dressers and they look like snowglobes. the girls all love snowglobes, so these were a big hit.

we older girls painted picture frames and then decorated them with christmas stickers.

no christmas party would be complete without gifts, and gee the christmas elf brought lots of them! she gave all the big girls a pink fuzzy notebook with their initial on it, and kolbie got a stuffed animal. for the sisters she brought us each a pink bag that says "wet bikini" to finish out the summer, and these really cute scarecrow candle holders to get us ready for fall!

we went ahead and drew names for christmas while we were there, so now i can start thinking about what kind of gift stacy would like! we all had so much fun...thanks stacy for all your hard work getting this together! now i'm just ready for fall to be here already!!!
